Liverpool is one of the largest clubs in the Premier League, if not the world. With five UEFA Champions League cups, seven FA cups and 18 League cups in their trophy cabinet they are always viewed as a threat by the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and more. Despite their reputation, however, so far this season they have struggled to obtain three points consistently across all competitions. Football Ticket Pad continues to supply match tickets for all Liverpool matches across all competition formats and Liverpool ticket holders and customers will be hoping they can turn their fortunes around and solve their ongoing issues.

With each game they play, cracks in their already leaky defence become more apparent which is causing anger and frustration for both pundits and fans alike. Their problems at the back are further exposed due to the fact that their offensive style of play is so efficient and threatening. The combination of such a weak defence and strong attack places the players, the people and the manager of Liverpool in a state of both excitement and despair.

Following the 2-0 loss to Leicester City at the King Power stadium which send the Reds crashing out of the Carabao Cup, Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp expressed his anger towards his club’s conception of easy goals. “We played really good football in the first half and should have decided the game early," he said before stating that the team weren’t ‘clinical enough’ of their chances. This result means that their league cup campaign had come to a premature end. It also marked the fourth consecutive match without victory across all competitions which was starting to worry Liverpool supporters. Fans didn’t have to wait long for this spell of losses and draw to come to a close though, as Liverpool returned to the King Power stadium to face Leicester City once again, only this time in the Premier League. Although Liverpool came away with the three points they so desperately seek, they still showed signs of weakness in their defence. If it wasn’t for Simon Mignolet’s revision of Jamie Vardy’s previous penalties, Liverpool would’ve found themselves leaving Leicester with only one point and continuing their winless streak.

However, despite the seemingly negative aura around the club, they still remain in the top quarter of the Premier League table and have not yet lost a game in the UEFA Champions League. The question that presents itself is which campaign will Liverpool Football Club be focusing on, if any? As the 10,000th day since Liverpool lifted the domestic league cup passed, fans were revitalised with an underlying optimism towards their club’s future. If only they could strengthen their defence and stop conceding goals, the Merseyside Reds would be a very difficult opponent for any side in this year’s Premier League and their supporters could be more at ease enjoying the fantastic football they play going forward.

Liverpool has been placed in Group E of the UEFA Champions League and will be hoping to progress to the knockout stages of the tournament and beyond. The next opponent to stand in Liverpool’s way at Anfield is Maribor on the 1st of November. Jurgen Klopp will hopefully be working on their defence in the meantime to ensure that they can collect the much-needed three points to put them at the top of their group and progress to the next stage of the competition to ensure European nights under the lights continue in the new year.
